World’s First Outdoor RPG Featured in Launch of XREAL Wired XR Glasses

November 1, 2026 – XREAL, a major maker of AR glasses, has featured Landing Party, the world’s first outdoor roleplaying game, in the launch of the XREAL AURA Wired XR Glasses. XREAL is a leading global maker of AR glasses, and the new XREAL AURA is a showcase for Google’s Android XR, a platform that seeks to unite AR/VR hardware onto a single operating system.

Monsarrat already has a phone version of Landing Party on Apple App Store and Google Play, based on 8 patents. Instead of the tiny map point technology of previous outdoor games like Pokemon Go, Landing Party lays a 3D fantasy world across a real-world space, which Monsarrat calls “Landscape Reality”. Then players walk through it to navigate the game world. In Landing Party, players take on a science-fiction mystery with combat, roleplaying, hunt, and puzzle components.

Now Landing Party is one of 20 featured apps for the launch of XREAL AURA, included in XREAL’s press release and overview video. XREAL has also set a “Landing Party’s dedicated day”, when Monsarrat’s game will be the feature in posts all day across all of XREAL’s channels on November 2nd.

Landing Party could be a killer app to sell AR glasses because:

  • Advertisements for AR glasses are static. Users wearing AR glasses in ads don’t seem to do anything. They sit on a sofa or stare into space, which isn’t interesting. But ads showing Landing Party with AR glasses would showcase happy players walking outside. That’s dynamic.
  • AR glasses compete with TV sets. Why should customers buy AR glasses when they already have a TV or computer monitor? With Landing Party, players walk around, which can be done with a tiny smart phone, but if you want a panoramic view, that can’t be done with a computer monitor. That’s a compelling use case to buy AR glasses.

Praise for Landing Party includes:

  • “Their vision is bold, and their execution is grounded in both technical depth and player insight. It’s with confidence that I can say Johnny and his team are leading the next evolution of outdoor gaming.”          — Jenna Seiden, former VP at Niantic (Pokémon Go)
  • “That was the best game I experienced [at this conference].”           — Charlie Fink, former Forbes journalist
  • “It is the best game I’ve seen at the show, for sure… there’s nothing that I’ve played or even seen in the last two days here except really this that would make me want to go out and buy a pair of smart glasses. There’s nothing on the market like it.”      — Marty Hails, unpaid major influencer
  • “This is the most that I’ve been impressed [at this conference].”                    — Kaleah Wilson, unpaid major influencer
  • “Powerful and unique… It’s great. It’s very, very, very powerful. Have the Niantic folks seen this, like ‘where have you been all my life?’” — Ted Schilowitz, former Futurist at Fox and Paramount.
